Conversion is an independently owned shop located on South 3rd Street in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia. We carry an array of US made home goods, gifts, and furniture along with an ever changing variety of vintage pieces. We also offer in-house welding and woodworking services, which provide our clients the ability to collaborate with us in creating custom pieces of furniture and lighting in both residential and commercial settings.

Dan Thompson, manager and owner, grew up in Lambertville, NJ. His first job was in an antique store sweeping and vacuuming the floors when he was 10. It was among the dimly lit, dusty rows of handcrafted furniture where he began to see the value in good craftsmanship.  He worked in construction and always had an obsession with vintage furniture and design. He started building furniture and flipping antiques on the side, as the business became progressively busier he realized he had a future in pursuing his passion. His love for design and vintage craftsmanship inspired him to open Conversion.

He loves selling US made goods, hand crafted by small companies to customers seeking to support local manufacturers and artists. "I really enjoy finding unique pieces and building furniture for people to take home and live their lives. I love the idea of a group of people sitting around one of my tables, eating a great meal and enjoying each other's company.”
